Available Services at The Paw Room

Agility

Dog agility is a sport in which a handler directs their dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. The athletic challenges of agility help to keep your dog fit, prevent obesity, increases endurance, and strengthen bones and joints. Agility courses also exercise a dog's mind, giving them opportunities to learn and solve problems.

Puzzles

The Paw Room offers 90-minute private puzzle workshops both in-person and via Zoom. Puzzle work provides vital mental and physical stimulation and enrichment to help your dog engage all his senses and stimulate proprioception, as well as build confidence and provide a natural, productive outlet for otherwise nervous or anxious energy. Amy is especially qualified to lead such workshops as a certified Hersenwerk mentor; the literal Dutch translation for Hersenwerk being “brainwork.” Puzzle Workshops aim to coach dog owners on how to create their own puzzles tailored to the specific needs and capabilities of their dog(s), and find success in executing these puzzles with their pup in a fun and engaging way.

Scent Work

Scent work training can teach your dog to harness their innate sense of smell to detect odors. Dogs use their natural ability to smell to find odors and are taught to indicate to their handler when they have identified one. Once your dog has been imprinted on the target odors and you get into the habit of practicing regularly, you’ll be amazed at their abilities!

Obedience

Basic dog obedience training is a great way to build a foundation of skills that will benefit both you and your dog in the long run. Training with basic commands allows you to bond with your dog and allow them the opportunity to learn and exercise their minds and bodies.
